How to: Style a Cubicle

Decorating a small office space on a budget is very possible! Here's my inspiration...

I think is super important to make your workspace into an area you enjoy. Whether you work from home in the corner of your living room, or you're stuck in a small 4x4 cubicle in a public office... you can still make your space your own!

Im currently working in a shared office space. I knew that I wanted to personalize my area but I thought keeping things in a neutral color scheme would work better in our shared space. I picked through the aisles of Marshalls, Home Goods, TJ Maxx, and of course Target and found just about everything on my list!

My list was separated into 4 categories:

1. Organize

One of my biggest pet peeves is clutter on my desk! I found these cute gold patterned folders at Target to put away all of my important documents.

This modern pen holder, also from Target, makes collecting cute pens even more fun and keeps my desk pretty clear.

I couldn't pass up this lucite and gold pair. It makes stapling and taping much more fun if you ask me. I grabbed these from Marshalls for under $10!

2. Power up

Working in a shared office space calls for some serious focus. I brought my gold Beats By Dre headphones to work to help tune out any distractions from my workload.

I was gifted this adorable coffee mug from an office buddy and I make sure to fill it with enough caffeine to keep me up throughout the day.

3. Lighten up

One man's trash is another man's treasure! After searching for an affordable desk lamp to no avail, a coworker was giving away this vintage desk lamp and I gladly took it off of their hands! The touch of gold and green add to my neutral color scheme and its even better because it was free.99

4. Check in

Lastly, This small little mirror is here so that I can check in with myself throughout the day. It may seem a little vain, but I tend to glance at myself often to check for any leftover lunch on my face, or crazy fly away hairs. I grabbed this from the bathroom section at Target!

This bulletin board wasn't on my original list but once I added a few inspirational quotes up there with my important work notes, it became one of my favorite additions to the space!

I hope that you guys enjoyed this small office tour and were also inspired to create an inviting work space of your own! Let me know how you like to add personality to you desk!

Until next time,

Brainstorming bedrooms

If you follow me on snapchat, you may have seen me talk about a huge project that I hope to finish this year! Im excited to be working on a entire home remodel decorating about 4 bedrooms, two living spaces, kitchen, & dining area. Its slightly overwhelming but I cant wait to see my visions become a reality!

The construction on the home should be wrapped up at the beginning of the year, at that point, I can begin the design process (the fun part!). So, while I still have a little time I've been brainstorming different bedroom ideas. Check out what I've come up with so far...

The home will be occupied with all males, so I tried to keep the bedrooms neutral while doing something different with each space.

This room is almost nautical with all of the navy but way more toned down. I love how grey is the neutral in this space.

This ultimate guys room features leather and wood neutrals. Very clean and masculine.

I thought this space was pretty gender neutral. The calm color pallet resembles a relaxing hotel get-a-way.

For the younger guest, the fun colors in this room brighten up the day. Cool abstract art make for a nice eye catcher.

All of these spaces are rough drafts, but I love getting my creative juices flowing with new projects on my hands. Which one is your favorite?

From "Stale to Serene" office makeover

Its so exciting when you finally get that corner office all to yourself!...but in this case, my client was given a corner office, in a basement, with half of a window and drab furnishings. We needed a major makeover in this space and surprisingly it didn't take much effort!

This empty office was cold and stale. My client was given typical office furniture out of the storage closet and horrible wall art. She desired a warm inviting space that was a getaway from her highly stressful job.

Fortunately, the existing accent wall wasn't such a terrible color and she had a few unused pieces from her home office that we could incorporate.

A few of her must haves for her space were: organization, interesting art, and a functional layout. We started by creating a layout that made her office feel larger and could hold up to two more guest if needed.

Kirkland's had our interesting art. My client fell in LOVE with these African ladies she affectionately named "Sasha & Malia". Their warm pallet went very well with the accent wall and set the tone for the rest of the space.

As far as organization goes we wanted to keep it functional yet decorative. The framed bulletin board makes her reminders look a little prettier and the woven baskets beautifully hold important files and documents.

We added a floor lamp with a warm light to keep the space calm and serene so that she could tackle those morning emails in peace.

Filling desktops and bookshelves with interesting nick knacks and personal photos always makes an office feel a little cozier.

My client is thoroughly enjoying her new office! Lets just hope she can get a little work done :)

Loving Neutrals

'Tis the season... to redecorate!

I know, I know... it seems like when you FINALLY get your home the way you like it..you're ready for a change! Well, that's exactly what's come over me! For a while I was happy with my space ..I still am. I even stopped roaming through the home decor isles and took a Pinterest break! But, suddenly I feel inspired. I'm currently craving NEUTRALS. Luxurious neutrals. Rich leathers and soft velvets. Cozy fur and sassy prints. The E-Design above is just a taste of what I have in mind. I've been back in those home decor isles and I've spotted a few gems I really wish I could bring home!

We should all be aware of the greatness that is Nate Burkus! These goodies are apart of his Target line. Who doesn't love illuminated copper and fur poufs?!

Yes, Urban Outfitters has hip clothes, but their home decor section has some gems! Check out this leather butterfly chair. I've been secretly wanting this thing for years!

Cost Plus World Market is oozing with neutral goodness! This jute rug would look so great under a velvet sofa and I just cant get over that antelope fur pillow.. I mean c'mon!

I could go on and on, but I think you get my drift. I'm digging neutrals this season, but for now I'll just dream about them!
