Small Bathroom Renovation
Detailed renovation plans for my
Condo’s small Bathroom
My bathroom is currently my least favorite room in my condo. Like most homeowners, the bathroom is one of the last tackled projects. Well, when it comes to renovations this will be my very first project! I have big plans for this space and its super important that I create a bathroom that is functional and beautiful because, its my only bathroom! I have recently been inspired by some of my favorite blogger’s bathroom renovations and I’ve managed to create a design of my own.
Here’s my current e-design plan:
The vibe I’m going for is “bold - global - glam”. I want to keep the basics pretty neutral while incorporating rich color and texture throughout! I’ll include unique shapes, luxurious fabrics, classic metallics, and fun patterns. I’m really excited about this project!
This is what my bathroom looked like on closing day:

What I plan to upgrade:
Flooring
I currently have a less than glamorous tan vinyl flooring situation going on. I would love to incorporate a sleek black porcelain tile. Im currently loving hex-tile!
Check out this absolutely gorgeous black herringbone tile in Shavonda’s (@SGardnerstyle) current bathroom…I die!
Paint
As you can see in my before photo, I’m using the same Repose Grey by Sherwin Williams as I have throughout the rest of my condo. I plan to either change the color completely or just repaint in a different finish. Who knew that flat paint in the bathroom would result in stained walls from “steam sweat”?
Vanity countertop and sink
I would love to find a beautiful sparkling white quartz countertop and under-mount sink. Im thinking I could save by keeping my cabinets which are solid wood and in great shape.
Mirror
Gold mirrors are my weakness! I plan to incorporate a round gold mirror to bring interest to the space. I’m loving how TaLaya (@OurBrickHomeStyle) placed this mirror over her hand painted…yes hand painted, wall!
Vanity lighting
Replacing a light fixture can completely transform a room. I’m thinking a modern sputnik light will do just that.
Vent fan
I mentioned earlier that my bathroom paint job suffers from “steam sweat”. My vent fan is pretty old and not at it’s best. It’s so steamy after a shower that my fire alarm, which is right outside of the bathroom door, goes off. Not so fun at 6am. So, Im hoping a new fan will help with the steam, especially since I plan to add wallpaper.
Toilet
Now, my toilet functions fine. However the original toilet and tub are in a bone color that I hate! It doesn’t matter how much I clean, it still looks dirty and dingy to me. I would love a fresh white toilet, and I’d love to be the first butt that sits on it!
Tub & tub surround
Just like the toilet, the tub and tub surround is in that bone color. I will consider refinishing it, but I’m leaning toward just replacing it all together.
Wallpaper
Now this is the fun part! I live for a bold funky wallpaper as seen in Shavonda’s and Blake’s (@SignedBlake) show-stopping bathroom makeovers! I definitely feel that a bathroom is the perfect space to play around with pattern and color. I’m going for bold and classic by using a Kuba cloth covering.
Other small changes I plan to make include:
Curved shower rod
Unique Wall accessories
Gold Drawer pulls
New Door
